                POWERS OF ATTORNEY

What Is A Power Of Attorney?

Legal Clarity can draft general or special powers of attorney to meet your specific requirements.

There are three types of Power of Attorney that can currently be created in the UK:

                GENERAL POWERS OF ATTORNEY

You can appoint an attorney by signing a simple document that enables the attorney to carry out any actions on your behalf as the attorney thinks fit. General powers of attorney are very wide in scope – they are unrestricted – and should only be used with caution and where you have utmost trust in the attorney.

                OUR GENERAL POWER DRAFTING SERVICE
                Total Price: £75    ( £90.00 inc. VAT)

                SPECIAL POWERS OF ATTORNEY

You can appoint an attorney to carry out specific actions on your behalf. These powers can be extremely restricted if you need them to be and can be limited in time.

                OUR SPECIAL POWER DRAFTING SERVICE
                Total Price: £100    ( £120.00 inc. VAT)

                LASTING POWERS OF ATTORNEY

Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) are used to appoint a decision-maker to act on your behalf in relation to your property or personal welfare if you lose mental capacity.

NOTE: Enduring Powers of Attorney can no longer be created, although they can still be used or registered if they were created prior to 1 October 2007. Lasting Powers of Attorney should be used in their place.

                FOREIGN POWERS OF ATTORNEY

Powers of attorney are often used to authorise someone to handle transactions or sign documents abroad on your behalf. The form of the power of attorney will be prescribed by the country where it is to be used and may be drafted in a foreign language. Powers of attorney for use abroad will almost always need to be notarised. Legal Clarity’s notary public can help. See our Birmingham-Notary service for further details.
